Hull: Overnight fire destroys home, over $20k raised for family in 4 hours
By Steve Burns
The Sestito family in Hull is going from one of the worst sights imaginable, your home burning to the ground, to the uplifting feeling of widespread community support. The home of Lodovico and Lisa Sestito and their three kids on Standish Avenue burned down in a two-alarm fire early this morning, with Hull, Cohasset, Hingham, Scituate, Norwell, and Marshfield firefighters all responding. The family got out of the house safely. The fire damaged the house next door and a nearby shed as well.
All that was left was the front stairs and wall. Within hours, a page set up on Go Fund Me, saying the family left the house with just the clothes on their back, with the organizers hoping to raise ten thousand dollars.
After only four hours online, they’ve raised over 20-thousand. You can find the fundraiser at www.gofundme.com/sestito . Lodovico Sestito is the brother of Hull Selectman Domenico Sestito.
