Middleboro: HazMat Team Deployed for Chemical Fire
By Kevin Tocci
A shelter in place order has been lifted after a hazardous materials fire broke out Thursday night at a Middleboro business. Firefighters responded at 7:26pm to 137 Pine Street for a chemical fire.
The location is the home of A & W Maintenance, a company known for epoxy applications. About an hour after the initial report, additional equipment and the Department of Environmental Protection were called to the scene.
At one point Middleboro Police closed the road to traffic and area residents were ordered to close their doors and windows.
That order was eventually lifted early this morning. No injuries have been reported and the cause of the incident is not known at this time.
