Norwell: Officials name new interim town administrator

The board of selectmen unanimously voted Wednesday night to name former Reading Town Manager Pete Hechenbleikner, as the town’s new interim town administrator.

Selectmen Chair Ellen Allen said, “We selected from our candidates a new Interim Town Administrator named Pete Hechenbleikner and he is a retired town manager from Reading, where he served for 27 years. The board was very impressed with him and he was our unanimous choice.”

Allen said Hechenbleikner may also be of assistance to the board, in their search for a permanent town administrator.

“One of the things that intrigued us about him is that he was involved in the process Reading went through to hire his replacement, to succeed him when he retired.

We’re thinking of using the Collins Institute to help with that process. They did that in Reading and he has some real advice about how best to work with the Collins Institute, and also feels he could be helpful in helping us recruit people to apply.”
