Plymouth: 15 minor injuries after school bus crash

Officials are reporting only minor injuries after a school bus coming from an elementary school collided with a sedan Thursday afternoon in Plymouth.

“I saw several ambulances leaving. Carver Road has been closed. There’s an island at Carver Road, and the bus daily makes a turn at the island that separates Carver Road from Plymouth Street. It was coming back into Plymouth and collided with a silver Dodge coup,” reported WATD’s Charles Mathewson.

He says the driver of the Dodge was okay but had some serious damage to the front of the car, while the bus wasn’t damaged much at all. 15 students from West Elementary School that were on the bus were taken to both Beth Israel Plymouth and South Shore Hospital.

“There are several parents coming to the scene to pick up their kids. Those who can’t make it in, a school bus transferred a bunch of kids back. The police are helping the kids off the bus that aren’t injured and reuniting them with their parents,” Mathewson reported.
